WHAT TO | READ

Tell Me Why – Archie Roach

I found to be an interesting and educational read. Strangely enjoyable and provided me with an insight and some empathy into one man’s journey to find himself, his family and his culture commencing this journey sadly as part of the stolen generation. I

I always enjoy biographies/autobiographies of people from various cultures, sportspeople, musicians, and they provide such a great insight into the lives beyond what we see in the general public and media.

WHAT TO | WATCH

Designated Survivor

Typically I’m watching the AFL footy, but I don’t understand the umpires’ interpretation of the rules at the moment.  They’re not helping to enhance the general spirit of our great game and the way it was meant to be played.

When there isn’t any football to watch, I’m enjoying The Designated Survivor with Keifer Sutherland, on Netflix. Kiefer Sutherland stars as Thomas Kirkman, an American politician named as the designated survivor for the State of the Union address, who suddenly ascends from the position of U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development to President of the United States after an explosion kills everyone ahead of him in the presidential line of succession. Kirkman deals with his inexperience as head of state while looking to uncover the truth behind the attack. A thrilling watch!

WHAT TO | LISTEN

Triple J

I recommend listening to Triple J, particularly on a Saturday afternoon, when the music is more relaxing. I’m trying to get into podcasts –  so if anyone has any recommendations – I’d love to hear them!

WHERE TO | GO

Coffee Shops

I just love coffee, so pop into the Sandbah Cafe, Cafe El Nido, Salty Dog, Bomboras regularly…and am enjoying getting back there now even more that restrictions are easing.

If you’d like to talk to Chris about his recommendations or more importantly your finances, please don’t hesitate to contact him via the Torquay office today, or email chris@surftax.com.au.
