On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Grants

Eligible farmers in the Surf Coast Shire are invited to apply for Victorian Government grants to strengthen drought preparedness.

The On-Farm Drought Infrastructure Grants Program has grants of up to $5,000 available, with eligible businesses to provide dollar-for-dollar matching funding.

Eligible farmers can apply for grants for on-farm improvements including water infrastructure upgrades, stock containment areas, grain and fodder storage and drought management tools such as soil moisture monitors and weather stations.

The grants are part of a $13.53 million Victorian Government Drought Support Package, which includes $12.1 million for grants. The program will close when all funds are allocated.

Surf Coast Shire farmers that need extra support are encouraged to contact Rural Financial Counselling Services Victoria West on 1300 735 578 for a range of support services including developing strategies to cope with stress, setting up a support network and accessing health services through referrals.
